Jewellery Care
JEWELLERY CARE
To keep your Polinsh Jewelry pieces in their best condition, we recommend caring for them with love and attention. Each material has its own unique characteristics that make it special — here’s how to help your jewelry shine beautifully for years to come.
Freshwater Pearls
Our pearls are natural treasures. We use only high-quality natural seawater pearls, each carefully selected and deserving of gentle care. Please keep them away from perfumes, hairspray, and other chemicals that may dull their natural luster. After wearing, gently wipe your pearls with a soft cloth to remove oils or residue. Always store them separately in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box to prevent scratching or tangling.
U.S. 14K Gold-Filled (14KGF)
14K gold-filled is not gold-plated. Gold-filled materials are regulated under U.S. standards and must contain at least 1/20 of the total weight in real gold. Gold-filled jewelry does not fade, but it can oxidize when exposed to sulfur-containing substances in the environment.
Cleaning & Care Tips:
-
For routine care, wash gently with water and mild dish soap to prevent oxidation.
-
If oxidation occurs, dry-brush with toothpaste, then rinse with clean water.
-
For heavy oxidation, professional gold-cleaning solution may be used (not recommended unless necessary, as these solutions can be slightly corrosive).
-
When not wearing, always clean and dry thoroughly before storing, and keep the piece in an airtight container or sealed bag.
Extra Care Notes:
Avoid contact with water, lotions, and detergents, as they may react with the surface over time. When not in use, store your jewelry in a dry, sealed bag to minimize exposure to air and moisture. Gently polish with a jewelry cloth to maintain shine.
925 Sterling Silver
Stainless steel is known for its strength and resistance to oxidation, making it a reliable choice for everyday wear. Some of our stainless-steel pieces may also be plated with precious metals for added shine. Although water-resistant, we recommend avoiding harsh chemicals or prolonged exposure to moisture to protect the surface. A simple wipe with a soft cloth will keep your jewelry clean and bright.
